Day One 27/12/18The organisers arranged a very heavy lunch to welcome everyones appetites and celebrate the opening of the reunion. Posted on the wall, portaits of the 1st generation and their family trees for everyone to see and find their place. 1st gen. families attending: Suafalaoa Mann, Palolo Kavanagh, Lemalie Siataga-Tuia and Piliati Siataga. Each introduced their families. Everyone had a break to rest before dinner. Afterwards The resident host Family of Suafalaoa Mann graciously performed several items for us all to enjoy. A great opening day.

Family headed across the island to Brenda's Beach Fales in Tafatafa. Awesome time had playing volleyball, swimming having a laugh (getting sunburnt) and a delicious BBQ made by 2 of Maliu Mai's chefs who came across with us. Home for a shower, quick nap then back for Tea: Fish & chips, leftover BBQ and very yummy sandwiches. Everyone was so exhausted after swimming, it was declared "eat then go home and sleep". It is also Atalee Siataga and Ula Ta'ase's birthdays.
|
Morning off to do shopping and back to Maliu Mai at 5pm for photos, prayer and our last dinner as part of the reunion. The visitors from NZ and Australia before Naitua, Suafalaoa and Sa treated us to some songs. The Mann family sang a song written by uncle Situa about his girlfriend who was stolen by a shopkeeper and performed an Avele College dance in honour of the men in our family who attended.

I was super excited to be able to take some family group shots and also individual head shots of everyone while I had the opportunity. Was a sad final day to say our 'till next times' but also an awesome note to know we've done it and can do it again in future.
